Deputy City Marshals are police officers who are actively engaged in protecting our community. When you are working for the city of Las Vegas Department of Public Safety no two days are the same. Patrolling bustling boulevards, attending a neighborhood watch meeting, enforcing traffic laws and serving warrants are just some of the duties you can be a part of.
Another perk of joining the city team is that the department works to ensure officers have access to ongoing education. For example, Lt. John Guillen recently graduated from a 10 week leadership course at Northwester University's Center for Public Safety. The school offers instruction on leadership, human resources, employee relations, organizational behavior, applied statistics, planning and policy development, budgeting and resource allocation.
