Finding Creativity And Community At Vibes DIY Studio

Tucked into a growing pocket of small businesses in Ward 6, Vibes Do-It-Yourself Studio is more than just a place to make art, it’s a place where creativity, connection and community come together.

During a recent visit, Councilwoman Nancy Brune and Mayor Shelley Berkley stopped by the studio to experience firsthand what makes this local business so special. From paint pouring to rug tufting, the studio offers hands-on activities designed to spark creativity for all ages and skill levels.

At Vibes, the canvas isn’t just a traditional square — it might be a bear, a rug or another unique piece waiting to be transformed. Visitors can choose between detailed hand painting or a more free-flowing paint pour technique, where colors are layered and allowed to drip organically across the surface.

Owner Mary Beth, who left a corporate accounting career to pursue a more creative path, opened the studio with her daughter after discovering their shared passion during the pandemic. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a thriving family business.

“We’ve always been creative,” she shared. “We combined rug tufting and painting, and three months later, we were open.”

That entrepreneurial spirit reflects the broader character of the neighborhood — a collection of small, locally owned businesses that support one another and take pride in serving their community.

“It’s been a hard year on our street,” Mary Beth said, “but the community has really been showing up these last couple of months, and we’re so grateful.”

One of the studio’s most unique offerings is rug tufting, a tactile art form that uses a specialized tool to create custom textile designs. While it may look complex, even first-time visitors can quickly get the hang of it — and often leave surprised by their own creativity.

Beyond the art itself, the experience offers something deeper.

“It’s therapeutic,” one visitor noted. “You tap into that creative side of your brain and discover talents you didn’t even know you had.”

That sense of discovery is exactly what Vibes aims to provide — a welcoming space where families, friends and neighbors can try something new together.

The studio is also part of a broader effort to bring energy and attention to the area, often described as having a “Norman Rockwell” feel, a walkable, community-centered district filled with character and charm.

As Vibes DIY Studio continues to grow, it stands as a reminder of what makes Las Vegas neighborhoods special: small businesses, creative spaces and a community that shows up for one another.

Whether you’re looking to pick up a new hobby or simply spend time creating something meaningful, Vibes offers an experience that’s equal parts art and connection.
