Las Vegas City Council met on Wednesday, March 17. Below are some agenda items that may be of interest. Get the agenda and watch a recording. 

Agenda Item 9 – Inspection Program for Certain Non-Transient Lodging Properties: City Council added a new chapter establishing an inspection program for certain non-transient lodging properties, including certain residence hotels/motels, and amends various provisions of LVMC Title 6 to provide parallel licensing changes, including a change in the definition of “apartment house” to include structures with four dwelling units. (This was related to Agenda Item 39 which is an introduction to a new bill  to provide a proactive approach in efforts to promote the maintenance of safe and secure apartment and similar housing within the city.)

Agenda Item 18 – Las Vegas Days Rodeo: City Council held this item in abeyance. The funding request in the amount of $180,000, which was approved by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, for the production of the Las Vegas Days Rodeo to be held May 6-8, 2021 at the Core Arena located at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, 1 Main Street, will be heard at a later meeting. 

Agenda Item 30 – Temporary Trade-In/Exchange Program for Certain Alcoholic Beverage Licenses: City Council approved the readoption of a program to temporarily allow the holders of what are commonly known as “asset” alcoholic beverage licenses to trade in those licenses for, or use them as credit towards, another type of “asset” alcoholic beverage license. The program is intended to give relief to such businesses by alleviating some of the operating restrictions associated with their existing licensing and allow them more flexibility with their business needs. This Resolution will expire on June 30, 2021, unless otherwise extended or repealed.

Agenda Item 48 – Report by Clark County School District School Associate Superintendents: The Clark County School District Act (AB469) requires the School Associate Superintendent to provided a report to City Council which is available to watch in the recording.
