On Oct. 4, 2023, Las Vegas City Council unanimously ratified Joey Paskey as the new director of Public Works. Paskey was selected for the position by City Manager Mike Janssen.
In her new role, Paskey will oversee our roadway and traffic network, wastewater and storm water management, underground infrastructure and more.
Paskey has served as the deputy director and city traffic engineer for the Public Works Department since May 2018. In this position, she managed a team that provides transportation system funding, planning, design, construction, operational analysis, maintenance services and private development coordination for the Las Vegas community.
Prior to her time at the city, Paskey worked as a consultant, providing technical expertise in intelligent transportation systems and transportation infrastructure throughout the United States.
Paskey received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Montana State University. She is a professional engineer registered in the states of Nevada and California and also holds a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification.
