A Rewarding Career in Public Safety
Deputy city marshals are police officers who protect our community every day—patrolling neighborhoods and city parks, serving warrants and supporting community engagement efforts. They play a vital role in maintaining safety on city-owned and operated properties.
Accepted entry-level recruits must be at least 21 years old and will begin academy training in August 2026. Training takes approximately 10–12 months, and officer candidates are paid while attending the academy.
Physical readiness testing will be held Nov. 20, 2025, and Jan. 8, 2026.
Learn, Train & Connect
If you’ve ever considered a career in law enforcement, this is your opportunity to learn what it’s really like to serve. Join Saturday morning workout and networking sessions to prepare for academy physical standards or experience the job firsthand through a ride-along with one of our marshals.
To request a ride-along, join a workout session or get your questions answered, email dpsrecruitment@lasvegasnevada.gov.
Who Should Apply
Qualified candidates from Southern Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah are encouraged to apply. The city also welcomes current police officers seeking a new agency and recently retired law enforcement professionals interested in continuing their service.
