Here is some basic information about voting in Las Vegas for Nevada’s June 9 Primary Election.

Here are some basics about voting in Las Vegas for Nevada’s June 9 Primary Election:

Ways To Vote In Clark County

Vote By Mail

All active registered voters in Nevada will automatically receive a mail ballot for the Primary Election. These ballots must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 9.

Tips for voting by mail:

•    Carefully follow all instructions included with your ballot.
•    Sign the outside of the return envelope where indicated.
•    Only place your own ballot in your return envelope.
•    Return your ballot as early as possible.
•    Avoid stray marks or damage to the ballot.
•    Voters may track the status of their mail ballot online through the Nevada Secretary of State’s voter services website.

Voters who want to check the status of their mail ballot can log in to the Nevada Secretary of State’s voter services website and confirm that their ballot has been received, or they can contact their county election office directly.  Voters also have the option to sign up for a service that will send the voter an alert via text message or email when the voter’s ballot has been received and counted.

Vote In Person

Clark County voters may vote at any early voting location in the county, regardless of where they live. All early voting locations offer same-day voter registration. Additionally, all registered voters may vote or drop off their mail ballots at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. May 26-28 and June 1-4. On Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 9, voters may cast their ballot between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. For a full list of voting sites and hours, visit Clark County’s Find My Voting Site App.

At the voting site, you will need to either surrender your mail ballot to an election official or sign an affirmation that you have not already voted in the current election. It is a crime to attempt to vote or actually vote more than once in the same election.

Vote By Dropping Off Your Mail Ballot

Voters may drop off completed mail ballots at designated drop box locations, early voting sites or Election Day voting locations throughout Clark County. To find a drop-off location closest to you, visit Clark County’s Find My Voting Site App.

Ballots also may be dropped off at any early voting site or any of the vote centers on Election Day. There is no need to wait in line if you are just dropping off; simply proceed to the front of the line.

Vote Party At Las Vegas City Hall

The city of Las Vegas will host a Vote Party event at Las Vegas City Hall Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 9.

Whether you are voting, dropping off your ballot or simply joining the festivities, all are welcome to attend.
