New Year’s Eve is one of the most exciting nights of the year in Las Vegas, bringing together residents and visitors for world-class entertainment, iconic fireworks and celebrations across the Strip and Downtown.

With hundreds of thousands of people expected to celebrate throughout the city, a little planning and awareness can help ensure the night is safe, smooth and enjoyable for everyone.

Where to Watch the Midnight Fireworks

Las Vegas Strip Fireworks

At midnight, the Las Vegas Strip will light up with a synchronized fireworks spectacular launched from multiple resort rooftops. Fireworks are scheduled to launch from:

  • MGM Grand

  • Aria

  • Planet Hollywood

  • Caesars Palace

  • Treasure Island

  • The Venetian

  • The STRAT

The coordinated show creates a 360-degree fireworks experience visible throughout the Strip, making it one of the most iconic New Year’s Eve moments in the world.

Downtown Las Vegas Fireworks

In addition to the Strip display, Plaza Hotel & Casino will launch its own fireworks show over Fremont Street at midnight.

The Plaza is offering New Year’s Eve hotel packages with multiple viewing options, including access to its rooftop pool deck, providing a unique downtown vantage point to ring in the new year.

Fremont Street New Year’s Eve Celebration

Downtown Las Vegas will once again host one of the city’s largest New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Fremont Street Experience.

The Fremont Street New Year’s Eve celebration includes:

  • Live music and performances on multiple stages

  • Entertainment beneath the Viva Vision LED canopy

  • A high-energy countdown leading into the Plaza Hotel fireworks show

This ticketed, 21-and-older event offers a lively and distinctly downtown way to welcome the new year.

Tips for Navigating Busy Celebration Areas

New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year in Las Vegas, especially around the Strip and downtown. Large crowds are part of the excitement and a little awareness can help make the experience more comfortable.

A few simple tips to keep in mind:

  • Stay aware of your surroundings and take breaks from your phone.

  • Keep personal items secure and close to your body.

  • Set a meeting spot if you’re attending with friends or family.

  • Take note of exits and pathways when you arrive.

  • If an area feels too crowded, it is okay to move to a quieter space.

Being flexible and patient goes a long way on a busy night and helps everyone enjoy the celebration.

Safety Tips from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is working closely with regional partners to support a safe New Year’s Eve for the more than 400,000 people expected to celebrate across the valley.

Here are a few reminders to help keep the night safe:

Plan Ahead for Transportation

  • If you plan to drink, designate a sober driver.

  • Use rideshare services, taxis or public transportation when possible.

  • The goal is simple: everyone gets home safely.

Be Mindful at Home

  • Extinguish candles, decorative lights and open flames before leaving home or going to bed.

  • Holiday decorations and unattended flames are a common cause of New Year’s Eve house fires.

Leave Fireworks to the Professionals

  • Personal fireworks can cause injuries and fires each year and are illegal any time except the Fourth of July.

  • For New Year’s Eve, fireworks should be enjoyed only as part of authorized professional shows.

  • America’s Party and Downtown fireworks offer a safe, spectacular way to celebrate.

Keep Pets Safe

  • Fireworks and loud celebrations can be stressful for animals.

  • Keep pets indoors and secured to prevent them from escaping.

Emergency Services Are Ready

  • On New Year’s Eve, emergency call volumes increase significantly.

  • Las Vegas Fire & Rescue will have specialized teams ready to respond if needed.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue also extends its thanks to the first responders, law enforcement officers and emergency personnel who will be working throughout the holiday to keep the community safe.

Celebrate Smart and Welcome the New Year

Las Vegas is proud to host one of the most iconic New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world. Whether you are watching fireworks on the Strip, celebrating Downtown on Fremont Street or enjoying the evening closer to home, planning ahead helps ensure a safe and memorable start to the new year.

Have a safe and happy New Year, Las Vegas.
