Downtown Las Vegas is more than just neon lights and vintage vibes—it’s also a surprisingly fun and family-friendly destination. If you’re looking for a day of adventure, creativity, and maybe even a little learning, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to spend a full day exploring downtown Las Vegas with your kids.
Breakfast at PublicUs
Kick things off at PublicUs, a cozy café just off Fremont Street with kid-friendly options and plenty of room to spread out for coffee and breakfast.
Younger kids: explore the Discovery Children’s Museum
Next stop: the Discovery Children’s Museum—a must-do for families. With three levels of hands-on exhibits, this place is packed with fun for all ages. Kids can explore the water world, climb through the interactive “The Summit,” and much more. Pro tip: wear comfy shoes and plan to stay at least a couple of hours.
Older kids: Axehole Vegas
With a parent or guardian, Axehole on Fremont Street offers axe throwing, knife tossing, ninja stars, and more.
Lunch at Pizza Rock
After a morning of play, walk (or drive a short distance) to Pizza Rock for lunch. The energetic atmosphere, massive pizza slices and cool décor make it a hit with kids and grownups alike.
Street Art Walk + Downtown Container Park
Walk off lunch with a quick stroll around Fremont East. Look for bright murals and restored neon signs along the way—perfect for a quick photo op. Then make your way to the Downtown Container Park, a creative shopping and dining spot made of shipping containers. The highlight? A giant treehouse playground and interactive “praying mantis” sculpture that breathes fire (safely) at night!
Fly High on Fremont: the SlotZilla Zip Line
Right in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience, you’ll find SlotZilla, a massive slot machine-inspired zip line that lets you and your kids soar above the crowds. There is no minimum age but riders must be at least 50 pounds, depending on which line you ride. Riders younger than 13 must be accompanied by someone 13 or older. Monday through Wednesday, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., tickets are $29. Also, guests can do All You Can Fly anytime before 5 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday for $69.
Dinner at Nacho Daddy
Nacho Daddy is located right off Fremont Street and is home to gourmet nachos, award-winning margaritas and if you’re brave enough, the original scorpion shot.
Catch the Viva Vision Light Show
Wrap up the day with a walk under the Fremont Street Experience canopy. The Viva Vision light show plays hourly each night and is a colorful, music-filled spectacle your kids won’t forget. The 1,375-foot-long screen is mesmerizing—and free!
