With spring break approaching and unseasonably warm temperatures in the forecast, the city of Las Vegas is helping families stay cool, active and prepared by opening splash pads at parks across the city and offering a variety of youth spring break camp opportunities.
In response to unseasonably warm temperatures, the city will temporarily open water-play areas at the following parks Friday, March 13, through Monday, March 23:
- Ward 1 – Rainbow Family Park, 7151 W. Oakey Blvd.
- Ward 2 – All-American Park, 1551 S. Buffalo Drive
- Ward 3 – East Las Vegas Family Park, 4480 E. Washington Ave.
- Ward 4 – Trigono Hills Park, 3805 Cliff Shadows Parkway
- Ward 5 – Kianga Isoke Palacio Park at Doolittle Complex, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
- Ward 6 – Centennial Hills Park, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive
The water that is used is clean, just like tap water at home. The water used in these areas is recycled the same way as water from our homes; it goes down the drain, to the treatment plant, winds up in Lake Mead and then comes back through the pipes.
All city splash pads are open May 1 through Sept. 30 daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If you don't see a splash pad listed, it is most likely managed by another local government agency or HOA. You can check with them directly for hours and locations.
