Support Your Pets: Resources for Pet Owners

Owning a pet comes with joy and responsibility. Thankfully, organizations like The Animal Foundation and Nevada SPCA offer valuable resources to help pet owners care for their furry friends. From microchipping to food assistance, here is how you can support your pets and ensure they are happy and healthy.
Microchipping
Each year, too many pets enter shelters without identification. Most animals brought to local shelters lacked microchips, collars, or tags. Local law requires all cats and dogs over 4 months old to be microchipped, making it easier for lost pets to reunite with their families. Protect your pet by getting them microchipped today.
Low-Cost Clinic

The Animal Foundation offers affordable access to vaccines and microchipping services to keep your pet healthy and protected from contagious diseases. Keeping your pets up to date on their vaccinations is a lifesaving measure every pet owner should prioritize.

Dog Training
Need help teaching your pup good manners? The Animal Foundation’s “Bark to Basics” training program is a five-week course that helps dogs 6 months and older learn key skills like sit, stay, and loose-leash walking. Open to all breeds and sizes, this $150 program is a great way to help your pet thrive.
Community Pet Pantry
For pet owners in need, both the Nevada SPCA and The Animal Foundation offer free pet food, treats, and supplies through donation-driven pet pantries. Items are available for dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, depending on donations.
Pet Support Hotline
If you have lost a pet, found an animal, or need assistance with surrendering a pet, The Animal Foundation’s Pet Support Hotline is here to help. Call (702) 955-5932 for guidance, or visit their website for step-by-step instructions before reaching out.
