The Summerlin North and West Districts are located in Ward 2 of the city, roughly bound by Buffalo Drive, Charleston Boulevard, Desert Inn Road, Lake Mead Boulevard and the Spring Mountains. Named one of Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live,” Summerlin is a master-planned community that has continued to develop over more than three decades. Divided into residential villages, Summerlin mixes residential with retail and office developments and includes parks, walking paths and premier shopping destinations such as Downtown Summerlin, a walkable urban center.
Summerlin is also home to the Las Vegas Ballpark home to the AAA baseball club the Aviators and City National Arena, the practice facility of the NHL Vegas Golden Knights. All of Las Vegas' sports teams work throughout the community hosting camps and other events, many at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Ward 2 The center is home to Pavilion Pool, which is the training ground for many former and future Team USA Olympic swimmers. A new pool complex is currently underconstruction
Other premier shopping destinations that draw residents from across the valley include Boca Park and Tivoli Village. Other well-known Vegas neighborhoods dot Ward 2 in cluding The Lakes. This area is also the gateway to the world-renowned hiking at the Red Rock National Conservation Area.
