EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Consulado de Mexico en Las Vegas seeks artists interested in creating new artwork for the SOMOS MAGIA (WE ARE MAGIC) Exhibition, a juried exhibition curated by Haide Calle.

Calle has exhibited throughout the state with galleries such as Holland Project Gallery, Core Contemporary Gallery, Left of Center Gallery, NUWU Art Gallery, and Clark County Museum. Her mixed media art has been reviewed by Desert Magazine and The Las Vegas Weekly. Calle has also had the opportunity to be interviewed with KNPR Nevada Radio to speak on her art career and engagement in social change as well. THEME
We often use fantasy to navigate a place of comfort whether it's through storytelling or imaginative and symbolic elements. Growing up we find spaces to escape and find belonging in. We hold space to carry the possibilities creativity can mold into our reality. It helps us decide how to show up, what to make, and what to believe in. Artists are invited to submit work that represents the theme SOMOS MAGIA (WE ARE MAGIC).
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION
All artists, eighteen years of age or older, who can qualify to work for the city of Las Vegas shall be considered, excluding current city of Las Vegas employees. Submissions containing graphic depictions of violence, sexually explicit imagery, and/or nudity are highly discouraged.

This exhibition will be featured in two venues: first at the Las Vegas City Hall Chamber Gallery, followed by the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas.
