The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre
The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre is a nationally acclaimed, award-winning youth theatre group. Since 1976, the company has provided a professional training program for young people and theatre art classes for all ages.
The core of the Rainbow Company is its ensemble of 40 dedicated students, ages 10 to 18, selected yearly by open auditions. Ensemble members work in all aspects of each production. The costumes, make-up, sets, lights, sound and backstage crew responsibilities are all handled by ensemble members under the tutelage of professional directors and designers. Participants make a serious commitment to learning the art of theatre.
The acting track is an intense, sustained theatre experience, where students are challenged with sophisticated acting exercises and material. This track focuses on building a foundation that is applicable to all further study in character work for live stage productions.
The design and technical track is an intense, sustained theatre experience, where students are provided with the opportunity to learn basic costume and/or set design elements of a theatre production. This track dovetails with production projects and students will create the technical elements and be responsible for running the technical aspects for the performance.
