Become a volunteer! The city offers a multitude of opportunities for passionate, enthusiastic volunteers to assist with events and arts experiences. Join our team, make new connections, and know you are making a difference by contributing to the cultural landscape of your community!

General Eligibility Requirements
  • Volunteers are friendly, outgoing, and welcoming to the general public.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Some roles may involve standing or being on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Background check and drug testing required for assignments that include working with children.
  • Attendance at orientation and specialized training as required.
  • Some volunteer duties may require adhering to a dress code.
  • Sign a general liability waiver and expectations agreement to follow guidelines outlined by the city of Las Vegas prior to being assigned to a role.
  • Assignments are available for volunteers with disabilities.
  • Volunteers must follow all rules and guidelines outlined by the city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs at all times.
  • The city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs maintains a work environment free of discrimination, harassment, drugs, alcohol, and weapons.

If you meet these eligibility requirements, the next step will be for you to fill out our interest form located Here. Once submitted, our volunteer coordinator will contact you with information on our next volunteer orientation date.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival
  • Concerts in the Park
  • Django Vegas Jazz Festival
  • Dia De Los Muertos Celebration
  • Tamales and Mariachi Festival
  • Rainbow Youth Theater Shows
  • Guest Artist Series Shows

Usher-
  • Welcome our patrons to our facilities, assist with seating and wayfinding during events.
  • Ensure a safe, pleasant, high-quality experience during performances in our theatre.
  • Duties may include taking and scanning tickets at the door, operating the will-call table, handing out programs and providing assistance in the theater during the show.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are strongly desired.
  • May require 2-3 hours of standing.
  • Assignment inside the theater cannot be guaranteed.
  • Opportunities include: Rainbow Company Youth Theatre productions, Contemporary West Dance Theatre, Vegas City Opera, StorySLAMs, and more.

Outdoor Festival Event Assistant-
  • Assist staff in execution of outdoor events and festivals.
  • Duties may include crowd control/wayfinding, running supplies to various points on-site, helping to ensure a safe event for all, and assisting in set-up and tear-down of booths, tents, etc.
  • Please note that duties may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions, including heat, wind, rain, etc.

Merchandise and Concession Sales Assistant (by application only) –
  • Facilitates sales of merchandise for touring artist events.
  • Cash handling experience is required; may include artistic services support, including serving, set-up, and organization of green room spaces for artists.
