In the spirit of UJAMAA, the community will celebrate the 4th day of Kwanzaa, “focusing on cooperative economics, which means coming together to build and maintain our own stores, shops and other business and to profit from the together.” This event features a Marketplace, youth poetry showcase, the life of Paul Robeson and the 2018 Girls & Boys Rites of Passage.
Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday, which celebrates family, community and culture. Celebrated from December 26th to January 1st. Its origins are in the first harvest celebrations of Africa from which it takes its name.
