We recognize the sacrifice and efforts our veterans have made for our nation. The city partners with veterans groups and nonprofits to provide opportunities for those who have served. The city has established the Veteran Services Initiative, which includes:
Mayor’s Challenge Las Vegas is one of the first cities that accepted the challenge to prevent suicide among service members, veterans and their families.

Operation Deep Dive Operation Deep Dive is a research study to examine factors and potential causes of suicide among military veterans. The study will help guide the development of programs to prevent and reduce self-harm. The city of Las Vegas teams up with America's Warrior Partnership, a group committed to creating a better quality of life for all veterans by empowering local communities, to tackle this initiative.
Hiring Our Heroes A nationwide effort to connect veterans, service members and military spouses with employment opportunities. The initiative partners with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and strategic partners from the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zones Connecting military spouses with local businesses, partners and communities to forge a diversified employment network.
Veterans Career Development Workshops We're collaborating with Goodwill to offer a number of workshops. All workshops will be be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Register now.
