Windows On First

“Windows on First” invites artists to create original, site-specific installations presented within the context of the First Street Art Trail. This program provides artists a unique opportunity to expand their skill-sets and display their work in a public space.

The space is located at City Hall, 495 S. Main St., and has three display windows on the east side of the building facing First Street.

Windows on First: Kindness, Neighbors, Art
By Sapira Cheuk

On display through Tuesday, July 25, 2023
In Kindness, Neighbors, Art, the artist draws from their experience as a transplant to Las Vegas. This city has shown hospitality and kindness, especially in the art community. While the desert climate is harsh, life here filled with small kindnesses and welcoming strangers. This experience is translated into figures that support and intertwine with each other. The hanging paintings are vignettes of stories filled with gentleness, compassion, and warmth.
