Government-Departments-Building&Safety

The 2021 International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC) were adopted in September 2022. The effective date of these codes is March 23, 2023. For a listing of the codes visit our resource page.  Effective Jan. 1, 2020, all NEW commercial, residential, and civil building plans MUST be submitted electronically. 

Schedule site inspections, pay fees, apply for permits and more on our building permits page. In addition we offer priority appointment scheduling to meet with a technician at our front counter at City Hall at 495 S. Main St.

Next Available Schedule Dates

Express Plan Review services = Please call to schedule, open dates; plans must be submitted prior to scheduling. To schedule an appointment for Express Plan Review, please contact the Permit Technicians at 702-229-1081 or by email at techs@lasvegasnevada.gov and a permit technician will help you with getting your Express appointment scheduled

Average Plan Review Time

  • Routine projects = 3 weeks for non-structural; 4.5 weeks for structural reviews
  • Land Development reviews = 2 weeks for building permits
  • Fire Reviews for Building permits = 3 weeks
