Operations & Development
Tom Perrigo, who has been with the city of Las Vegas since 1994, oversees the departments of Operations and Maintenance, Economic and Urban Development, Public Works, Planning, and Building and Safety in his new role as chief operations and development officer.
Prior to taking this position in November 2020, Perrigo served as executive director of community development. Perrigo served as the director of Planning and also served in dual leadership roles as Chief Sustainability Officer since 2009. During his tenure at the city he was responsible for the adoption of numerous planning and sustainability policies and programs aimed at growing a resilient, sustainable city. Perrigo negotiated an agreement with local investor owned utility NV Energy that allows the city to be powered by 100 percent renewable energy sources.
With the city of Las Vegas since 1994, Perrigo has also held the positions of deputy director of Administrative Services, deputy director of Planning, comprehensive planning manager, senior statistical analyst and statistical analyst. Previously, he was an economist with Science Applications International Corporation and a management analyst with Crested Butte Mountain Resort. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
