Sports play a very important role in the development of our youth. Kids who play youth sports have higher self-esteem, stronger connections with their school, better peer relationships, and fewer behavioral problems. The discipline and training needed to participate in sports helps to develop successful adults. Athletes learn the importance of teamwork and of following leadership.
The city’s Municipal Sports Unit hosts recreational leagues for flag football, competitive flag football, basketball, floor hockey and soccer. We also provide sports skills classes that allow for kids to try a sport. We are proud to operate and manage some of the most beautiful sports facilities in Nevada. The city coordinates the allocation process and reservations of all athletic fields in the city of Las Vegas, for both city-owned sports fields and fields on Clark County School District campuses.
