In 2021, the State of Nevada, the city of Las Vegas and 28 other local governments entered into the One Nevada Agreement on Allocation of Opioid Recoveries. The One Nevada Agreement is a formal agreement to coordinate the resolution of opioid-related litigation and the equitable distribution of recovery proceeds. NRS 433 sets approved uses of settlement funds on programs, including prevention initiatives, capital projects, housing and more.
In January 2024, the Office of Strategic Services established the Community Recovery Funds (CRF) to manage and distribute opioid settlement funds for housing, behavioral health crisis and criminal justice programs for $3.04 million through 2026. On July 17, 2024, the City Council approved and authorized the allocation of funds to local non-profit organizations to expand existing opioid-use disorder programs.
