The Office of Strategic Services provides support services for the city manager to achieve results consistent with the city’s vision, mission and priorities. The office aims to engage employees, departments and community members through its work in strategic initiatives, customer care, process improvement and performance management.
Strategic Initiatives
Strategic Initiatives provides enterprise-wide support to maximize interdepartmental alignment and manage major projects, including the development process for the citywide strategic plan and performance management analytics. Strategic planning aims to ensure that the priorities set by the City Council are conveyed in the organization’s goal, that strategies are clearly developed to meet the goals, and that the overall city government is accountable to meeting community needs. Performance management focuses on the systematic process by which a department involves its employees in improving organizational effectiveness in the accomplishment of the city’s priorities and strategic initiatives.
