Sanitary sewer plumbing plays an important role in the health, safety and sustainability of our community.
As is standard practice for most municipalities the City of Las Vegas provides for maintenance of public sewer main facilities. The public sewer line infrastructure is normally located underneath public streets, but may also be found in designated property easements. If there is an issue with a public main line, such as obstruction, pipe failure or damage from area construction activities, our team will address it. A sewer stoppage in the city sewer main will affect multiple upstream properties, and may also result in overflow form affected manholes. If you encounter a concern of that type please call our Streets & Sanitation Division at 702-229-6227.
It is the responsibility of private property owners to maintain private sewer laterals originating on their property to the point where the laterals are connected into the city sewer main line. If you have a plumbing issue which is specific to your property you may need to contact a licensed contractor to investigate and address identified concerns.
